AACo's Legislative Policy Committee (LPC) is the guiding force behind AACo's advocacy efforts at the state capitol. This group reviews legislation that impacts each of the affiliate groups, establishes the organization's formal position on pending legislation and makes amendment suggestions to improve legislation.
The LPC has 15 members and consists of the five officers of the Arizona Association of Counties as well as the president of each affiliate group. In addition, the Immediate Past-President of AACo serves as the Chair of the Legislative Policy Committee.
The LPC typically meets once a week during legislative sessions to review legislation and shape AACo's legislative strategy for the coming week.
